Damien Jurado Cancels Australian Tour

Seattle-bred troubadour Damien Jurado has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled September tour of Australia as a result of injury.

In a statement released today, Handsome Tours — the company that was to stage Jurado's shows while he was here for the Brisbane Festival — advised that Jurado's management had confirmed the cancellation, saying in a statement that "Damien is heartbroken" over the development.

"Touring Australia has been one of his biggest dreams but he cannot play the shows at this point in time," management said. "We hope to make it up to fans in the near future."

Ticket-holders can contact their points of purchase to suss refunds. Sorry, guys, looks like we'll only be able to enjoy Jurado's esteemed sounds in recorded format for a little while longer.
