"I sense... self-promotional opportunities"
The Real Housewives Of Melbourne has announced its cast for its impending second season, and the music world will once again see indirect representation via Jackie Gillies, a professional psychic and the wife of ex-Silverchair drummer (and current Bento frontman) Ben Gillies.
Those of you who endured the first season of Foxtel's highest-rating reality show will know that Ben was something of a regular fixture of the series. He popped up often alongside Jackie as they worked together to develop and build their company La Mascara, the mission statement of which is to supply the populace with much-needed premium, all-natural alcoholic beverages, focusing on high-quality ingredients, expert craftsmanship and funky new flavours that you didn't even know you wanted, because if Australia needs any niche filled, it's that gaping hole in our booze market.
See? Fresh, unheard-of flavours like "Cosmopolitan", "Margarita" and "Mojito". What a time to be alive. Here's hoping, as the second series progresses, we see even more of the once-prodigious muso and his clairvoyant wife.

The Real Housewives Of Melbourne became Foxtel's highest-rating show upon its launch - no small feat; there are kind of a lot of them - and, with a number of returning faces and a couple of new ones (even among the old ones, if you follow) to flesh out the season-long drama-o-rama, the second series looks set to continue the trend when it returns to Arena in early 2015.
Until then, bust out some La Mascara (you'll need it) and reacquaint yourselves with where we last left the volatile vixens, below.
