Port Macquarie’s annual Festival Of The Sun is upon us once more, and it’s making sure to celebrate in style for its tenth year of revelry, proudly presented by The Music.

The 2014 event, which boasts a rather appropriate superhero-themed birthday party and best-dressed prizes, features drawcard appearances from Brissy rock heroes Violent Soho, veteran trans-ditch legends Shihad and hard-working luminaries The Jezabels.

The roster is more than capably filled out by a diversity of acts, with something sure to please everyone among its soundscape offerings from Allday, Dune Rats, Jackie Onassis, The Cairos, APES, Steve Smyth, Goons Of Doom, The Lazys, The Stiffys, Tora, Sons Of The East, Tropical Zombie, Pelican Itch, I Oh You DJs, Karl S Williams, Tim Chaisson, Timberwolf, Chris Rose, Tegan Wiseman, and a yet-to-be-revealed triple j Unearthed winner.

“I’m glad to say that the smile still never leaves my face every year of

FOTSUN,” festival director Simon Luke said in a statement. “I feel like the festival is still so young, as the last ten years have simply flown by.

“We have all been very lucky to have witnessed so many amazing artists play on our stage, and have had so many great punters and crew to share the experiences with. I am so excited for the next 10 years of FOTSUN.”

Only 3000 tickets will be up for grabs for this year’s party proceedings, to ensure its idyllic set-up at the Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park remains comfortable for everyone engaging in some mid-December revelry.

The 2014 Festival Of The Sun will be held from December 12-13, and is technically an 18+ event, though families are welcome (children under 10 enter free when accompanied by a guardian). Tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, September 10, and will set you back $165 (plus booking fee), which includes two nights of beachside camping. There are VIP options available as well if you want to check out what’s available over at the festival website.
