Aussie rock trailblazers Radio Birdman – yes, very nearly the real, actual, foundation version of Radio Birdman – have announced that they’ll be hitting the road this October and November for a limited run of performances, proudly presented by The Music.

Founding members Rob Younger, Deniz Tek, and Pip Hoyle will be joined by early-noughties recruit Jim Dickson and “other friends” to complete the sojourn, which serves something of a celebratory function, going down in conjunction with a forthcoming re-issue of the band’s entire iconic back catalogue.

That sweet release will include a limited-edition CD box set, providing remastered versions of the band’s studio albums, Radios Appear (Trafalgar and Sire versions) and Living Eyes, which also come with a standalone bonus disc of largely previously unreleased material, which should get the diehards salivating nicely. You’ll also score a copy of an unreleased live concert recorded at Paddington Town Hall in 1977, just before they left the UK, in double-LP format.

The studio full-lengths will consequently be re-released on vinyl in the months leading up to Christmas. Joy to the world.
