More acts to be announced in September
South Australia’s newest festival, Outlet Music Festival, has announced the first names that will grace the main stage at Beachport Hotel this Boxing Day.
Rounding up an electric mix from around the country, Melbourne-based progressive rock quartet LeBelle, Queensland multi-instrument DJ duo Mashd N Kutcher, pop punk locals Admella, Melbourne’s folk rock Secret Tsunami, and singer-songwriter Ezekiel Ox join the post-Christmas celebrations, with more to be announced next month.
Rather nicely, Outlet is providing two lucky bands with the opportunity to join the festival bill via the Inlet Battle Of The Bands, held at Mt Gambier and Warrnambool this year. If you're in an original band/act steeped somewhere among the acoustic, folk, rock, electronica or hip-hop genres and based in south-east SA or the Warrnambool region, you can fling the organisers an email with links to your online presence (Facebook, YouTube, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and the like).
Competing bands will play a 35-minute set, comprised of at least 75 per cent original material, and be provided with a sound engineer and back-line. All members must be over 18 to participate, and, if you're selected to play at Inlet, you'll pick up a $125 voucher for Dale Cleves Music, see an original track of your choice added to the inaugural Inlet compilation LP, which will be put out via Ditto Music on all major online stores.

The winners of the Inlet heats will then go on to receive their paid slot at Outlet, as well as a Yamaha digital recorder, valued at $210, courtesy of Dale Cleves Music, while Ditto Music will spot you worldwide chart registration, the set-up of a label, iTunes pre-release and a spot for a single/EP or album to all stores distributed to by Ditto Music around the world. Yeesh, that's a good prize package, no?
