It'll be the US troubadour's first visit in about 18 months
Renowned purveyor of evocative Americana Justin Townes Earle has announced an impending return visit Down Under – his first in more than a year and a half – to tour the nation throughout October in support of new LP Single Mothers, which is set to drop via Warner Music Australia on September 5.
The sojourn, during which he will stop by Melbourne’s new Americana festival Out On The Weekend, kicks off at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Friday, October 11, before rolling through Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Meeniyan, wrapping up at The Tivoli, in Brisbane, on Wednesday, October 22.
Earle recently unveiled new single Time Shows Fools, which we were lucky enough to have the privilege of exclusively streaming a couple of weeks ago (still available here) and is no stranger to Aussie shores, but his forthcoming tour will mark the first time he’s brought along his full band for the ride to help him recreate the luscious tracks of Single Mothers as well as choice selections from his critically lauded previous releases The Good Life, Midnight At The Movies, Harlem River Blues and Nothing’s Gonna Change The Way You Feel About Me Now.
He’ll be additionally joined for the run of shows by supports in the form of prodigious Canadian Lindi Ortega, who makes her second visit to the country this year after winning hearts and minds at a string of performances in April, and opener Marlon Williams, who’s making big waves of his own among the national industry for his considered and captivating compositions.
