They join first act coldrain on the official bill
The 2015 Soundwave festival grew a little bigger overnight, with the announcement that New York State-bred pop-punk five-piece Patent Pending have been confirmed as next year's event's second act after yesterday's revelation of Japanese metalcore outfit coldrain as the first.
Patent Pending released their debut studio full-length, Save Each Other, The Whales Are Doing Fine, in 2006, following five years of solid output in the form of a slew of independent EPs and a couple of albums. Following a line-up change (and a brief legal stoush with We Put Out Records) after the debut's release, they dropped a couple more EPs (2009's Attack Of The Awesome!!! and 2010's I'm Not Alone) before dropping their well-received sophomore effort Second Family in 2011.
They've released yet another EP — Spring Break '99 (2012) — and a third album (2013's Brighter) since, and despite the group's overall relatively lengthy tenure (13 years is nothing to sneeze at), they're a band that feel like they're yet to peak, which can only spell good things for this summer's run of Soundwave shows, kicking off on February 21-22, 2015.
