We sort through the rumours
With the official artist announcement looming, fake posters doing rounds, one band confirmed yesterday and more being revealed this week, punters around the nation are itching to see who'll be on the Soundwave 2015 bill.
We sorted through the rumours to compile a list of who you might see on the line-up:
Rise Against
@steph_winter13 I'm hopeful.

Maddah’s keen, the band has a new album and frontman Tim McIlrath has said they’re keen to come back to Australia. We like those odds!
Rival Sons
@Stevegdd @rivalsons Will invite them to #SW15
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 10, 2014
They’ve got a new record out and Maddah is stoked on their live show
Chevelle
@conallin Yep. I do like them quite a bit!
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 6, 2014
The Chicago alternative rockers released their seventh record this year and have been doing some extensive touring in support.
Electric Six
@gearsofSuzie @electric6 All over it!
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 6, 2014
The electric Michigan act has been working on a new record since late last year.
Papa Roach
@brittlefx @paparoach For sure.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 7, 2014
The band’s new record, F.E.A.R. is due out early next year and they’re often touring abroad.
Halestorm
@Beckettinga We'll 100% invite them. Up to them after that.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 7, 2014
@emsuxx_ Yep. Invited already.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 9, 2014
The ball’s in their court, but they’re due for a return, so it seems likely
Babymetal
@aryastarkers I already am!
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 14, 2014
Metal vocal and dance group Babymetal would be an interesting addition to the list, but they’re in the midst of touring their debut record, so it would make since.
Bullet For My Valentine
@MattL255 We're talking :)
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) March 18, 2014
They’re no stranger to the SW stage, but AJ didn’t confirm whether he was in talk in regards to the festival or a headline tour.
The Lawrence Arms
@grantdobson @TheLawrenceArms would be happy to
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) April 9, 2014
They’ve got a new album out and did well at SW 2013
King Parrot
@Incubus2014 very likely I reckon
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) April 10, 2014
Maddah’s been adding more and more Aussie acts to the bill each year, and King Parrot fit the festival perfectly.
Bloodhound Gang
@GiraffeRawr YES! I should! I'm totally on this right now...
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 11, 2014
They were favourites at Soundwave 2009 and are due for a return.
Conditions
@caseeydee they said they would. Hopefully they are still into it
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 12, 2014
They’re doing a run of farewell shows and have told Maddah they were keen.
All That Remains
@nick_redhead Yep. Highly possible
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 12, 2014
“Highly possible” sounds good to us!
Midtown
@stayunspoiled @iamnotshouting @midtown @DriveThruRecs all over it
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 14, 2014
No new music, but fans have been awaiting a tour from the iconic New Jersey pop punkers for a while.
Make Them Suffer
@jamieafterlife @mtstweets yeah. Good chance
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) May 15, 2014
As mentioned already, Maddah’s been sharing the local love in recent years, so there’s a “good chance” the Perth metallers could end up on the bill.
Young Lions
@lexamoremusic @YoungLionsAus I like them a lot. Quite possible
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) July 31, 2014
Another local with the right hype and momentum to land them a place on the bill.
