Damn, Twitter, you are enlightening

More The 1975 More The 1975

Earlier this evening, theMusic.com.au was privileged to have Matty Healy, the frontman of UK indie-pop royalty The 1975, take over our Twitter account to field questions from the band's fans.

After a brief welcome message to herald the kick-off of the back-and-forth, Healy got right down to brass tacks and filled us in about the brand new Splendour veterans' time in Australia as well as a few other choice details about life in one of the world's most fiercely exploding rock bands.

For example, we now know...

His favourite thing about Australia

Melbourne made a very specific kind of impact on him

How he'd soundtrack his own life

His favourite gift ever

He actually remembers his first music festival

He's not a fan of explaining his band's name

He's not sold on the romance of the '80s

He thinks there's a time and place for everything

He very probably just made this fan's life

We also found out about his shaved-head years, preferred wine, favourite tattoo, '80s movies he wishes his band had soundtracked and more! Check out our Twitter to see more responses from the lusciously locked frontman himself.

If you haven't yet had a chance to grab it, the band's self-titled debut LP is available now.

The 1975 are headed to the Enmore Theatre in Sydney tomorrow night, July 30 — see the Gig Guide, below, or The Music App for all the info.
