It's the dawn of a new era for South Australian music

The general manager of Music SA, David Grice, has announced that he is departing the organisation, welcoming at the same time his replacement, new managing director PJ Murton.

Murton has been involved with Music SA at a board level for many years, Grice said in his statement, and brings to the position a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help bring the state music organisation into a primed and ready state to tackle whatever comes next for it.

“In my place at Music SA will be PJ Murton, who is not a stranger to music in South Australia and is one of the people who has been driving the organisation at Board level for many years,” Grice explained. “Acting as Managing Director, PJ not only brings with him his wealth of industry knowledge, but also his organisational knowledge that will assist in setting Music SA up for the future.”

For his part, Grice will be taking up the position of managing director at Musitec, the South Australian Music Industry Cluster Organisation. Musitec works to foster co-operative collaboration between external businesses and industries in South Australia to aid in fostering the state’s own vibrant musical identity.

“While this transition heralds some change within Music SA, it also comes with it the opportunity to build sustainable careers in Adelaide,” Grice said. “I’m very passionate about this.”
