More Mogwai More Mogwai

Scottish post-rock icons Mogwai have revealed in an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit that they are planning on touring Australia in the near future.

Although long-time guitarist Stu Braithwaite was relatively scant with details, his enthusiastic, definitive answer of “Yes! We are coming!!” (which possibly inadvertently recalls their classic track title Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home) to a user’s query about their intent to travel Down Under pretty much seals the deal as far as confirming at least some kind of trip is in the works.

Mogwai only recently wrapped up playing the globally renowned Glastonbury Festival – during which they were among the chief critics of the event’s decision to cast stalwart metal act Metallica in the role of headliner – having last visited Australia for the 2011 Splendour In The Grass festival, meaning this will be Aussie fans’ first chance to wrap their ears around the glorious work put out by the band on their most recent LP Rave Tapes, released earlier this year.
