Sydney Theatre Company, Art Gallery of NSW and the Museum of Contemporary Art have already received a cut

The Packer family is set to pump $100 million dollars into the arts under a new fund announced today at their Crown casino in Melbourne.

Fairfax reports that Crown Resorts and the Packer family will donate $200 million into The National Philanthropic Fund over ten years, half of which will go to the visual arts and theatre.

$60 million of the funding was allocated at the end of last year, targeting museums and theatres in western Sydney, including Sydney Theatre Company, Art Gallery of NSW and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Part of the funding comes from the Crown Resorts Foundation as part of their corporate social responsibility program, and organisations and institutions can apply for funding that will be “awarded on merit”, according to Crown.
