Just because you can, doesn't mean you should

It's one part epic, one part deeply unsettling, but either way, you should definitely wrap your ears around this major-key arrangement of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit — replete with modified Kurt Cobain vocals — created for orchestra by North Carolina man Paul Swartzel.

"I altered Kurt Cobain's original vocals to a major key and rewrote the rest," Swartzel explains of the cover on his Vimeo page. "I've always thought he had a beautiful voice and wanted to see what it would sound like in a different context."

Oh, we'll tell you what it sounds like. Incredibly awesome and super disturbing. And its accompanying montage of '90s clips is freaking perfect. Don't take our word for it, though:
