The inaugural Follow The Sun event will go down in October

Adelaide is set to welcome a brand new festival to its annual event calendar in the form of the Follow The Sun blues and roots festival, coming to the beachside surrounds of Glenelg this October.

Despite its fledgling status, the event – founded by venerated local publican David Elmes of the Watermark Glenelg – has confirmed a mighty line-up of acts to help celebrate its inception, including the renowned frontman of Something For Kate, Paul Dempsey, Melburnian stalwarts BONJAH, fellow Victorian luminaries Dallas Frasca, North By Northeast alumni Benjalu, “beatboxing bluesman” Lyall Moloney and several more.

The licensed, all-ages celebration will come replete with “backyard barbecue” ethos, a spirit of food, fun, friendship and family all set to fine locally sourced tunes, Follow The Sun promises to provide a more casual alternative to the intensity of your average large-scale festival.

“Follow The Sun Festival will be a great opportunity to showcase Glenelg,” Elmes said of the event in a statement. “Some outstanding Aussie music talent and a few drinks with your mates – what could be better?
