More Ash Grunwald More Ash Grunwald

Salt-of-the-earth Aussie troubadour Ash Grunwald has had his recent debut tour of the United States alongside Xavier Rudd capped off in true style, with the Walking and The Last Stand scribe being revealed as a nominee for Best International Act for this year’s LA Music Critic Awards.

The awards are curated by renowned music critic Bob Leggett of The Examiner, and are designed to shine a spotlight on up-and-coming artists from around the States and the world.

At present, there is only one other nomination in the Best International category – Swedish electro duo Marching Band – but as winners will not be announced until August 1, there’s still just over a week for more nominations to be added to the pool. Still, we’d like to think that Grunwald’s chances are pretty damn good, with quality like this under his belt:

Having won US hearts from Nashville to Brooklyn, the nomination lends an added air of esteem to Grunwald’s imminent homecoming, for which he’ll commence a solo headline tour on Friday, August 15, at the Townsville Cultural Festival, and fills his calendar through to October.
