More Jimmy Barnes More Jimmy Barnes

Legendary Aussie musician Jimmy Barnes has been the personification of the pub-rock workhorse for the past 30 years, and, to mark the milestone, the former Cold Chisel frontman will be embarking on a very special national tour this November/December in collaboration with vineyard-soiree event series a day on the green.

The run of shows – for which Barnesy will be consistently joined by fellow icons The Living End and special guests Mahalia Barnes and the Soulmates, and Melbourne troubadour Nick Barker – is being staged in conjunction with the release of his 30/30 Anniversary retrospective LP, on which Barnes has given 15 of his smashiest smashes a do-over alongside heroes and peers such as Keith Urban, John Farnham, Bernard Fanning, Journey, Little Steven Van Zandt, Shihad, Tina Arena, Baby Animals, Jon Stevens and others.

As part of the celebration, the shows will sport the Jimmy Barnes Greatest Hits Spinning Wheel, on which 30 classic Barnsey cuts will reside and which will be spun by fans to help the band determine their set list for the performance.

The Living End feature on the album's first single – the reworked Lay Down Your Guns, previewed belowthus making them highly appropriate tour-mates for the forthcoming jaunt, which kicks off in Mudgee on November 1 and heads to Bimbadgen Winery in the Hunter Valley for a show featuring additional guests the Baby Animals on November 8.

Barnes is no stranger to wineries, having played at Queensland's Sirromet estate as recently as March, at a classic Aussie rock show that sold out its 10,000 tickets with ease, so you'll want to be quick once tickets go on sale for the tour's shows at 9am next Friday, July 18, via Ticketmaster.
