'Que Sera' conquers the ARIA Singles Chart

More Justice Crew More Justice Crew

Local dance/singing group Justice Crew are riding high on the news that their single Que Sera has broken the ARIA record for the longest-running number one since 1983 when the charts began.

The youngsters were presented with commemorative plaques by Sony Music boss Denis Handlin in recognition of the record.

The song has now sat in the top spot for nine weeks, surpassing Gotye (Somebody That I Used To Know), Savage Garden (Truly, Madly, Deeply) and Austen Tayshus (Australiana), who each previously landed eight consecutive weeks at number one.

If the outfit score the top spot again this coming week, it would mean they would tie with Daddy Cool as the holders of the longest running number one single in Aus chart history. Daddy Cool did so in 1971 (pre-ARIA) with their hit Eagle Rock.
