More The Vines More The Vines

Volatile Aussie rockers The Vines have had a tumultuous twelve years since the release of their incendiary debut LP Highly Evolved, but they've held on through fallings out and fallings over to release five studio full-lengths and be able to announce the forthcoming release of a new 22-track double album, titled Wicked Nature.

The band's sixth studio record will hit shelves on September 2, and marks Vines frontman Craig Nicholls' debutant run as producer, handling the second disc solo like Han, and the first in collaboration with veteran You Am I desk-man Paul McKercher.

The album also heralds The Vines' first independent release, to be put out through an also-named new label on double CD and double gatefold vinyl not just at home but in Britain, Europe, the US and Japan, as well as being available worldwide digitally.

If you pre-order the album from Pledge Music, you will be in with a chance to nab some exclusive goodies, including personally autographed copies of the vinyl.

The Vines are letting us in with an early look at their work on Wicked Nature, too, with the revelation of typically short'n'sweet new clanger Out The Loop, which is over in less time than it would take you to cook two-minute noodles.

It features in the album trailer, below, and the band have also made it available on their SoundCloud page.

The album's first single proper, Metalzone, is due for release the week commencing July 14.
'Wicked Nature' is the band's first independent release. The album will be released on a new label of the same name. It will include a physical release on both double CD and double gatefold vinyl in the UK, Europe, USA, Japan, Australia and all other territories digitally.
