The former members of fallen post-hardcore/rock outfit Lostprophets have joined forces with Geoff Rickly of Thursday to form a new ensemble called No Devotion.

The ex-players of the Welsh rock act – guitarists Mike Lewis and Lee Gaze, keyboard player Jamie Oliver, bassist Stuart Richardson and percussionist Luke Johnson – and the Thursday/United Nations vocalist have just released their first single, Stay, via iTunes, and will put out a 12-inch vinyl release – featuring another track, Eyeshadow – via Rickly's own Collect Records in July.

There's little point in rehashing the exceedingly seedy and shameful circumstances that surrounded Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins' recent fall from grace and imprisonment for child-sex offences; his transgressions have been well documented in the time since they first came to light.

More relevant, at this advent, is what lies ahead in the future for the remaining members, and with Rickly brought into the fold, it seems like after their darkest stretch as people, much less musicians, they have something to look forward to once more.

"To be honest, I never really listened to Lostprophets," Rickly told Blabbermouth. "But … I had always liked these guys in passing: they're funny and self-aware. I didn't think it was fair, what was happening to them. And, well, the music was too good to pass up."

No Devotion will make their live debut in Britain this month.
