Brissy beat-maker The Kite String Tangle has announced national tour dates in light of his newest EP. Check the details here.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

And more on Sheppard, who are once again at the top of singles spectrum on the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts this week, with their hit single Geronimo (Independent/MGM) closely followed by Sia's Chandelier (Monkey Puzzle/Inertia), again sitting at two. Sia's other current track Eye Of The Needle moved from three to four, with dance trio RUFUS enjoying third spot with their song Sundream (Sweat It Out/Xelon).

Beat-maker Komes scored the only singles debut this week with Apple Juice & Vodka (Bomb Squad/Xelon) entering at 16, while Meg Mac and Ball Park Music enjoyed re-entries with their tracks Every Lie (Independent/MGM) and Trippin' The Light Fantastic (Stop Start Music/Inertia) in at 14 and 18 respectively.

Hip hop crew Thundamentals' latest album moved back into the top spot of the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts - So We Can Remember (Obese Records) bumped down John Butler Trio's Flesh & Blood (Jarrah/MGM) to three. Chet Faker's 2012 collection Thinking In Textures (Opulent/Inertia) moved into second, while Adelaide MC Allday saw his EP Loners Are Cool (Independent/MGM) jump from 13 to five in a week.

There were no debuts in the albums chart this week, but there were a couple of re-entries: RUFUS' Blue (Gigpiglet Recordings/Inertia) in at 14, Kerser's S.C.O.T (Kerser N Nebs Records/Obese Records) at 16, Seth Sentry's This Was Tomorrow (High Score Records/Inertia) at 17, Horrorshow's King Amongst Many (Elefant Traks/Inertia) at 19 and Colin Buchanan's The Jesus Hokey Pokey (Independent) at 20.

Local rock outfit Twenty Two Hundred have scored a major support slot coup, opening for legend Slash during his upcoming UK tour. The tour takes place in November/December. More info at their website.

James Keogh, better-known-as Vance Joy has taken home the leading peer-voted APRA Award for Song Of The Year at the  for his hit single Riptide. Full wrap-up of winners here.

NSW coasties Little Earthquake suffered a slight setback this week, with YouTube banning their newest video. The duo believe it's because of the depiction of a dead fish in the clip. More.
