None of that 'When Harry Met Lloyd' nonsense here, nosiree

US late-night talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has made the dreams of millions of '90s kids and collegiate-humour enthusiasts come true as it premiered the long-awaited trailer for Dumb And Dumber To, the belated sequel to 1994's Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels gross-out comedy hit, Dumb And Dumber.

Depending on how you felt about the Farrelly Brothers and their Rhode Island-based buddy comedy the first time around, you'll either be totally thrilled or completely mortified to know that it would seem not even the passage of 20 years has done anything at all to remotely dull (or sharpen, more accurately) the unique minds of BFFs and hijinks-prone ne'er-do-wells Lloyd Christmas (Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Daniels).

As mentioned, Dumb And Dumber To picks up 20 years after the first movie and sees the lifelong buds reuniting in search of one of their long-lost children, on account of needing a kidney, and offspring are generally good for that sort of thing.

Fans of the original film are especially eager for the sequel's arrival given the existence of one Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, a universally panned prequel film released back in 2003 that tried to capitalise (perhaps too early) on the first movie's still not-insignificant popularity at the time, but managed to do little more than unashamedly puke all over the faithful's hopes and expectations.

Fingers crossed we're in for some genuine laughs this time. Dumb And Dumber To is set to hit cinemas this November.
