Sixteen years since inception, the revered hardcore band isn't resting on its laurels
New York hardcore vets Every Time I Die have announced the impending release of their seventh full-length album, From Parts Unknown, to hit stores on June 27 via Epitaph Records.
The band made a concerted effort with From Parts Unknown's 12 tracks not to take the road well travelled, calling in legendary producer Kurt Ballou, of “co-founding Converge” fame, to record the album at his Salem, Massachusetts, studio.
With a back catalogue of prior works including Nails' Abandon All Life, Skeletonwitch's Serpents Unleashed and Modern Life Is War's Fever Hunting, among several others, Ballou's expertise in capturing the vitality and aggression of the kind of tunes for which Every Time I Die is renowned is second to none, and it shows even on the first track to be released from the album, the blink-and-you'll-miss-it Thirst, the video for which involves two dudes running roughshod through and at the outskirts of a city on their way to a house party – a scintillating narrative that will be completed in a future video.
