Second show cut from tour
The sudden illness that forced American singer Janelle Monáe to miss out on the first show of her tour with New Zealand's Kimbra on Saturday has now claimed the Sydney show, with promoters Live Nation postponing tonight's planned concert.
After missing Melbourne's Saturday show, a statement from Live Nation says that Monáe “has been required to remain in Melbourne under medical supervision to assess her recovery.”
With the concert postponed, Live Nation are set to make an announcement tomorrow regarding a possible rescheduled date later this week and ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets until then.
The joint tour between the acclaimed alternative-R&B singer and Antipodean pop star hasn't been the smoothest of their careers, with the tour-opening Perth show cancelled earlier this month and the original Sydney venue of the Hordern Pavilion moved to the iconic Sydney Opera House.
If the show is re-scheduled at the Opera House it will have to be before Friday, when the all-encompassing Vivid LIVE festival kicks off.
