Run of shows at classy venues a fitting end for 'Harlequin Dream' tour cycle
Aussie folk-rock darlings Boy & Bear are capping off their massive tour cycle in support of most recent LP Harlequin Dream with a series of shows in some of the country's largest and most highly regarded theatres.
Already having traversed the world, selling out shows in Europe, the US and Canada, the announcement for September's Get Up And Dance tour comes as the acclaimed Sydney band head into the back half of a 29-date regional showing around the country. You'd be forgiven for feeling tired just looking at that schedule, but Boy & Bear's keyboardist Jon Hart speaks of the impending journey with such enthusiasm that it's hard to imagine they'll be bringing anything less than their best, regardless of how busy they've been of late.
“We've been on the road since February and it's been amazing getting to play for people on the other side of the world as well as doing shows in parts of Australia that we've never even been before,” Hart said. “It feels like the right time to come home and play some theatre shows in venues that we've only ever dreamed of playing at … We can't wait!”
The tour commences in Melbourne at the Palais Theatre on September 5, consequently taking in Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre, The Arts Centre on the Gold Coast, Brisbane's Tivoli and the Sydney Opera House before crossing coasts and landing at the Albany and Bunbury entertainment centres, before wrapping up a little more than three weeks after it began, at the Fremantle Arts Centre on September 28.
The Boy & Bear fan mailing list presale goes down on Wednesday, May 14.
Tickets will be made available for general release on Friday, May 16, from the band's website.
