Aus chart the next in Azalea's sights

More Iggy Azalea More Iggy Azalea

Aussie export Iggy Azalea has debuted at three on the American Billboard album chart this week with her debut record The New Classic.

The rapper was widely expected to have a strong debut in the states given strong digital sales last week and the achievement follows her top five position in the UK earlier this week. The 23-year old, who grew up in the Northern New South Wales regional town of Mullumbimby, is also hotly-tipped to land a #1 debut in Australia tomorrow night.

The album didn't quite manage to be the top debut of the week, with Future's Honest landing at two behind the soundtrack to Frozen, which racks up its 12th week at number one. It sold another 115,000 copies this week.

Azalea does, however, lead the three Antipodean representatives inside the top 12, with Lorde's Pure Heroine at nine and 5 Second Of Summer's She Looks So Perfect EP at 12.

There are more Aussie representatives in the influential Adult Alternative Songs chart, where Boy & Bear's Southern Sun is steady at seven and Birds Of Tokyo's Lanterns remains at 13 – having spent 13 and eight weeks respectively.

Regular chart identity, Aussie DJ Havana Brown is up to six in the Dance/Club Play songs with Warrior, gaining six potions this week.
