More Blondie More Blondie

Iconic NY new wavers Blondie have announced they are ready to drop their tenth studio album as a part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.

The band will release Blondie 4(0)Ever on May 16. It will include new album Ghosts Of Download plus Deluxe Redux: Greatest Hits.

It will be the first full length player of new tracks from Blondie since 2011's Panic Of Girls. The new set boasts collabs with Gossip's Beth Ditto and Columbian cumbia-hop outfit Systema Solar

Never ones to recoil from re-interpreting other artists' songs (two of their biggest hits were covers: Hanging On The Telephone and The Tide Is High), they have also recorded a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's '80s sex anthem Relax.

The greatest hits package will include 11 of the band's biggest tracks - from 1977's Rip Her To Shreds through to their most recent hit Maria. The big smashes are also there: Heart Of Glass, Call Me, One Way Or Another.

The album is now available for pre-order at iTunes - and it includes an immediate free download of new song I Want To Drag You Around. Ordering through iTunes also scores you three new bonus cuts upon release and a "digital booklet".
