Birds Of Tokyo have continued their march into the American music conscious this week as Sydney pop punk act 5 Seconds Of Summer debut at two in the charts.

Perth's Birds Of Tokyo have been tracking solidly since SXSW and their single Lanterns jumps from 26 to 17 in the influential Adult Alternative Songs – aka Triple A – chart this week.

These results largely happened before a recent appearance on late night TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The Triple A chart is also where Boy & Bear's Southern Sun is hanging out at eight in its tenth week and Vance Joy's Riptide is at 15 in its 18th week. Over in Europe, Riptide is sitting at seven in Austria, 11 in Germany, 16 in Ireland, 17 in Slovakia and 35 in Switzerland this week.

In the Billboard 200 for albums 5 Seconds Of Summer continue to court the success they're enjoying around the world with their She Looks So Perfect EP debuting at 2. The single, She Looks So Perfect, debuted at 60 on The Hot 100 chart for singles.

Other Aussie representatives in the Billboard 200 include Keith Urban's Fuse, which is back up to 83 and AC/DC's Back In Black which celebrates 120 weeks in the chart by rising to 140.
