The brainchild of The Fans Group and Destroy All Lines.
Brisbane's Fortitude Valley has another live music venue to add to the already significant number of venues that make up the Queensland capital's hotbed for entertainment, as The Brightside is today announced to be opening in May.
The venue is the brainchild of Destroy All Lines and The Fans Group (who currently operate the Valley's Alhambra Lounge) and is located at 27 Warner Street, the venue currently that operates as Electric Playground and was for many years a favourite live music haunt as The Healer.
Destroy All Lines' Ben Turnbull and Fans' Jesse Barbera have pretty humble aspirations for the new venture at this stage.
“I hope we don't fuck it up,” Turnbull says.

“I hope it goes heaps good,” adds Barbera.
Unsurprisingly there are already a huge number of Australian and international acts with shows booked to launch the venue in its first few months, beginning with a mammoth opening party on Saturday 3 May featuring Massachusetts deathcore kings The Acacia Strain. The venue will officially open for business two nights prior on Thursday 1 May.
The likes of Straight Arrows, Kisschasy, King Parrot, The Getaway Plan, Hands Like Houses, Kim Churchill, Origin, Cartel (acoustic), Morning Harvey, Mindsnare and more are all set to visit the venue over the coming months. The venue's Facebook will have the info as it's announced.
