Canada’s White Lung & US Indie Supergroup Upset Announce Aus Dates

Two kick arse punk rock bands in Australia together this June.

More White Lung More White Lung

Vancouver indie-punk White Lung have recently inked a deal with Domino Records – a decent barometer for quality, we've found – and have been scoring massive praise for their part-sweet, part-vicious brand of snarling, straight ahead punk rock. Their 2012 record Sorry was a cracker and widely recognised as such by plenty of media, bloggers and music lovers all over the world.

Here's Drown With The Monster from the band's forthcoming third record Deep Fantasy, due out in June.

The band are finally making it to Australia to show us what they can do in the live arena and they bring with them one very, very exciting new group in Upset. While they are far from well-known at this stage, the members of Upset have some pretty great credentials; frontwoman Ali Koehler was drummer in Vivian Girls and Best Coast, Patty Schemel was the drummer in Hole for much of the '90s, Jennifer Prince is formerly of La Sera and Rachel Gagliardi can also be seen in Slutever.

The band play a kind of lo-fi punk rock that will fit in very nicely alongside that of the headline act – check out Oxfords & Wingtips from their 2013 debut LP She's Gone below.
