April Fools Day never sounded so good.

More Jeremy Neale More Jeremy Neale

Two much-loved burgeoning Australian acts have released new songs this morning that have their respective fanbases calling them out as April Fools pranksters. No matter how firmly their tongues are planted in their cheeks, you can't deny they've done a pretty great job.

Firstly, Brisbane's Jeremy Neale has released the most triumphant power metal track Stallion Rider, a song that kicks arse but is perhaps a little too far removed from his usual power-pop fare to actually be considered a legitimate new single.

On the other side of the musical spectrum, metal/hardcore dudes In Hearts Wake have put together Brown Rice, Tuna and Salad, a song that sounds a lot more like the kind of music people would usually associate with their hometown of Byron Bay. It's all acoustic guitars and Aussie hip hop and nothing at all like what the band usually sound like.
