Super Duper officially launches

After stints with indie label Shock and festival Big Day Out, publicist Genna Alexopoulos has officially launched her own firm Super Duper this week.

With launch clients including The Cairos and Chance Waters through Island Records, Papa Vs Pretty through EMI and Chuck Ragan through Ten To Two Records, Alexopoulos said that a want to break out from a restricted client base has kept her from going in-house again.

She said working festivals and labels were “completely different beasts”.

“Besides the obvious planning differences between album releases and events, there's the craziness and the energy of festivals and working from the road, and the constant stream of new talent and operations you're exposed to from working at a label,” Alexopoulos told theMusic.com.au.

“Working PR on a festival is kind of like having 50 albums releasing on the same day with all artists in market, then taking them on tour to celebrate with tens of thousands of your closest friends… I'm very lucky to have been exposed to both sides of the coin.”

While Alexopoulos has been operating under Super Duper since late last year, this week's official launch will see her look to expand the existing client base.
