Both cracking influential AAA radio rankings

More Boy & Bear More Boy & Bear

Boy & Bear have pushed into the top ten of the influential AAA radio chart in America, where they join country-mate Vance Joy after successful SxSW campaigns.

Although both acts were on their way up earlier this year, the SxSW hype has given them added boosts. Vance Joy's Riptide is up to its highest position of seven this week, while Boy & Bear's Southern Sun scored its highest position with ten.

According to Boy & Bear's management, the track is now at nine in the AAA radio chart ahead of its official reveal later in the week. Vance Joy is believed to be up to six.

The chart – also known as Adult Alternative Songs – is a key indicator of radio trends before they hit the mainstream charts, with Lorde's Royals and Adele's Rolling In The Deep two examples of songs that broke in the 'AAA' chart before taking over the Billboard Hot 100.

Prior to heading to the US, Sydney indie-rockers Boy & Bear sold out a run of shows across the UK and played shows in Paris, Germany and Amsterdam. They recently released a video for album track Bridges and will return to Australia in April, before heading to North America and Europe for festivals in July and August.

Vance Joy's Euro push continues as well, with – at time of publish – Riptide sitting at 36 on the UK iTunes chart, at 14 in Germany, 15 in Ireland and 39 in Austria.

It's 34 in the official UK charts this week as well.
