Can Anyone Stop INXS In The Charts This Week?

None of the new releases...

Only the likes of Pharrell Williams and Katy Perry appear to be in a position to stop INXS from holding down yet another week atop the ARIA Albums Charts this week, judging by the impact new releases are having on the midweek chart figures.

Still flying from the TV series INXS: Never Tear Us Apart their compilation The Very Best held off Pharrell's G I R L last week thanks to the latter's late release. Pharrell has finished up his duties with the Future Music Festival and has two solo shows this week (the first tonight) which should keep sales kicking until Friday, while Katy Perry's added a 20th show to her tour and is in full promo-mode.

The top debut will come from Lea Michele's Louder, which could be a top five finisher but is currently behind the top pack. Elbow's The Take Off And Landing Of Everything is hoping for a top ten finish at this stage, ahead of Paloma Faith's A Perfect Contradiction.

On the Australian front, Lior's Scattered Reflections is the top debut so far and is currently sitting just outside the top 20. It's ahead of fellow local releases, Calling All Cars' Raise The People and Buried In Verona's Faceless, which should both score top 50 entries. X-Factor contestants JTR's Touchdown is also in the mix.

One of the outside chances is Lorde's Pure Heroine, given her big publicity win yesterday. The record had jumped a few positions from 12 on the back of her tour announcement on Monday, but figures from yesterday have not been counted yet and so it's yet to be seen whether she'll get a spike to push further into the top ten.

Also experiencing modest bumps this week are Jason Derulo's Tattoos, Lana Del Rey's Born To Die (The Paradise Edition), Ellie Goulding's Halcyon Days and The Rolling Stones' Grrr!.

The big mover in the ARIA Singles Chart is Coldplay's new track Magic, which after debuting at 17 last week has pushed into the top ten – potentially the top five.

Midweek figures show that Gabrielle Alpin's The Power Of Love is on the move from 245, Jason Derulo's Stupid Love from 39 and Peking Duk featuring Nicole Millar's High from 29.

Taylor Henderson's When You Were Mine is in line to be the top debut, aead of Iggy Azalea's Fancy, Jessica Mauboy's Never Be the Same, One Directions' Midnight Memories, The Chainsmokers' #Selfie and Christina Perri's Human.
