More Sweethead More Sweethead

Queens Of The Stone Age sideproject Sweethead has announced two club shows that will take place directly after two of QOTSA's upcoming arena shows with Nine Inch Nails.

Involving QOTSA guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and Serrina Sims, the sinister duo will play shows in Sydney (Thur 6 Mar) and Melbourne (Fri 14 Mar) after the day job's first show in each city.

Backing them for these shows will be Boots Electric's Eden Galindo and master drummer Jon Theodore – of QOTSA and The Mars Volta fame. Following a 2009 album, their new EP Reverse Exorcism! will be released soon through Liberator.

Members of QOTSA will be DJing at the shows.

The shows are happening at the Oxford Art Factory and Ding Dong Lounge, details below. Tickets go on sale 10am Monday 3 March. (If you're in Sydney, remember to be there by 1.30am with the new lockouts.)

In other QOTSA party shenanigans, Michael Shuman, Deal Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen will be DJing the night before their Sydney show – Wednesday 5 March – at beer, pizza and music joint Frankie's. As well as their set, The Owls and Sassin Fras will be playing. It's free, with bands from 10pm and the QOTSA set from 12pm.
