Stone Temple Pilots Deny Recording Kept Them Away From Soundwave

But they won’t say what did.

Stone Temple Pilots With Chester Bennington were forced to pull out of their slot on the 2014 Soundwave Festival last week, at the time reportedly citing a clash with recording as the reason they weren't able to make the festival dates and theatre shows they had booked in.

But, curiously, the band has today denied that it is recording that has kept them away. They're staying pretty cagey about the reasons.

“We regret that, due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, our forthcoming tour dates in Australia, the Middle East and Hawaii have had to be cancelled,” they wrote on their Facebook page early this morning, Australian time.

“An initial statement citing "recording delays" wasn't true -- the conflict wasn't related to recording new STP material. We are deeply disappointed to not be able to perform these shows, and look forward to making them up in the future.”

Aussie rockers The Living End were drafted in to replace the band after their late cancellation.

There's no animosity from the Soundwave camp, however, with AJ Maddah confirming he'd heard from the band and completely understood their situation.
