Local punk-rockers Born Lion have been named as the support act for The Hives' Big Day Out sideshow in Melbourne. Read on.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

Flume & Chet Faker are again on top of the AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart with their collab Drop The Game (Future Classic/Independent). The Stafford Brothers feat. Jason Herd & Sherry St. Germain climbed into second with their track Wicked Child (One Love/Xelon).

Country outfit The Viper Creek Band were the only debut in the singles/EP chart this week with their song Tonight, Tonight (Independent/WJO) in at 19.

Chet Faker also held onto the top spot in the albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart with his Thinking In Textures (Opulent/Inertia). Rap duo Horrorshow moved into second with their acclaimed 2013 LP King Amongst Many (Elefant Traks/Inertia).

Singer-songwriter Michael Paynter debuted at six this week with his new album Weary Stars (Independent).
