Rising country star Morgan Evans has confirmed details of his upcoming debut album, which will be released in March through Warner.

Tentatively tipped as one of Australian country's next big stars, the record will be the culmination of the Newcastle, New South Wales, native's musical career to date. Evans admits that he's been “working toward this album since I started my first band at the age of 13.”

The self-titled record was recorded in Nashville with ex-pat Aussie Jedd Hughes, who has become one of the Nashville scene's most in demand hit makers and producers having helped craft and play on records by Keith Urban, Emmylou Harris and Alison Krauss. The album also features vocals from Kasey Chambers on a cover of Guy Clark's The Cape.

Managed by Rob Potts and Kerry Roberts, the debut record will be released Friday 14 March, with the first single – One Eye For An Eye – Monday 3 February.
