Familiar names on the winners' list.

Irish rock behemoth U2 and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros frontman Alex Ebert are the two big musical winners at today's Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, with the two acts picking up awards in their respective categories.

U2 took out the big Best Original Song award thanks to their Ordinary Love track being used in the biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.

Ebert was the recipient of the Best Original Score award for his work on the score for the Robert Redford film All Is Lost. It's not the first time a member of a (kinda) indie act has taken out this award, with Trent Reznor and Karen O among those who've won Golden Globes in previous years.

Ebert's band will be in Australia later this year for Bluesfest, West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, the Deni Blues Festival and a few sideshows. Details are below.
