A new album will be out in 2014

More Oh Sees More Oh Sees

Despite earlier reports of an indefinite hiatus and even rumours of a possible break-up, San Francisco outfit Thee Oh Sees have confirmed they will have a new album out early next year.

Pitchfork initially reported that the band were taking a prolonged break after vocalist and guitarist John Dwyer told fans at a show in their home city this week that "this will be the last Oh Sees show for a long while." This was then confirmed by the garage-rockers booking agent to the SF Weekly.

But Dwyer has since played down the break, posting on their official website this morning that they will be releasing a new album in the coming months and will play the live shows situation by ear.

"THE BAND IS NOT BREAKING UP. THIS IS JUST A WELL DESERVED BREAK AND TRANSITIONAL PERIOD."
