Tickets to The Rolling Stones' 2014 tour have sold out in minutes this morning, with tickets immediately appearing on online auction and re-selling websites.

Within hours of tickets going on sale, theMusic.com.au has seen tickets individual tickets on sale for up to $3,000 each.

Today promoter Michael Gudinski, an outspoken opposer of scalping, urged fans to be wary of unofficial sellers.

“Despite claims from many of these unauthorised sellers that they will guarantee tickets, evidence from numerous tours would suggest this is not the case, with many fans being defrauded or left standing outside a venue without legitimate tickets,” he said.

“I cannot stress the importance of buying tickets from authorised outlets only.”

The only tickets left to the shows are premium ticket packages, while Gudinski's Frontier Touring said they “strongly recommend” punters stay away from sites such as eBay, Viagogo and Eventbrite.

Viagogo have attempted to get on the front foot regarding tickets, with spokesperson Alex Levenson saying today, “Now that the Sydney event has largely sold out, we're urging fans to be careful where they buy their tickets. Never buy a ticket that isn't protected by a 100 percent guarantee that you'll get the ticket you paid for in time and will get into the event, as on viagogo.”

According to their figures, 68 percent of people searching for Rolling Stones tickets on their site are from Australia, leaving 32 percent coming from overseas.

Gudinski added, “With the shows strictly limited it was inevitable that tickets would sell quickly. With just a limited number of ticket packages remaining, fans will want to get in fast before these shows sell out completely.”

The top premium packages cost $1,275 per ticket.
