Company owns a share in Brown Bear Entertainment

Leading independent electronic label and management company Future Classic have bought into boutique touring company Brown Bear Entertainment, prompting the merging of their touring arms.

Moving forward Anand and Jessica's Krishnaswamy Brown Bear will exclusively be a touring company, taking on Future Classic's international touring interests in an equal joint venture. Brown Bear previously had a limited management interest.

Today Future Classic's founder Nathan McLay told theMusic.com.au that, “the success that we've had has certainly opened doors to add to the depth of our services.”

He said that, “Because touring's a risky business we needed someone who has 100 percent investment.”

McLay's company – who've had a breakout year largely thanks to Flume's success, epitomised by the 21-year-old's ARIA Awards haul – will still present showcases and label nights under its own name.

Future Classic will tour Mount Kimbie's Laneway Festival run early next year and have also handled tours by Lindstrøm, Tiger & Woods and John Talbot this year. They also manage a number of artists, including Flume, Touch Sensitive, Panama and What So Not and recently released Flume & Chet Faker's Lockjaw EP.

Brown Bear Entertainment was formed in April this year and has promoted tours by Baauer, Yuksek, Kissy Sell Out, TNGHT and Digitalism (DJ set) amongst others. Anand has previously worked with Fuzzy's touring division.
