Laneway Puts Call Out For Emerging Melbourne Bands

There is still time for you to score a dream gig

Time is running out for emerging bands from Melbourne's western suburbs to apply for Laneway Festival competition The Very West.

The initiative sets out to find unsigned and unknown artists from the area to perform at the loved festival next February. In the past, winners have gone on to score themselves deals with labels, management and agents so this is a pretty big deal for those acts looking to take a big step in the industry.

Laneway again teamed up with the Footscray Community Arts Centre for the comp and applications can be picked up from their premises or by emailing here. Artists have until Monday 25 November to apply.

The four shortlisted acts will be notified the following Friday and will then battle it out at The Very West Showcase on Saturday 7 December at the Reverence Hotel.
