The surf rockers regretfully pull the pin on the Sunshine Coast.

Aussie surf rock masters The Break have regretfully pulled the pin on their scheduled Noosa show this weekend, due to poor ticket sales.

The band, which features Midnight Oil members Martin Rotsey, Rob Hirst and Jim Moginie, Vuolent Femmes' Brian Ritchie and Hunters & Collectors' Jack Howard, have issued a statement on their Facebook page that doesn't both mincing words and using the “unforeseen circumstances” excuse, rather just admitting that the tickets weren't moving.

The Break's show at The J Noosa this weekend has been cancelled. Jim, Rob, Brian, Martin and Jack are sorry to disappoint their fans on the Sunshine Coast.

The band's manager says, “The Golden Days Festival, which is running on the same date, and featuring Grinspoon, has as slowed ticket sales. Along with the recent election controversy over the Clive Palmer/Campbell Newman votes re-count, #Noosa punters have had a few distractions.”

The band hopes to re-schedule a show sometime next year.

The Break released their second LP Space Farm earlier this year. We quite liked it.
