His track 'Nourishment' with Abbe May won big at last night's awards

Producer Mathas has won the Grand Prize for WAM Song Of The Year, taking home his prize at last night's awards.

The beat-maker/rapper was awarded the honour for his track Nourishment, which features the vocals of Perth singer Abbe May. Mathas also scooped up the awards for best electronic and urban/hip hop songs - for Nourishment as well.

For his Grand Prize win, Mathas also receives a $3,000 cash prize, recording time at Sydney's Albert Studios, a mentoring session with Albert's Creative Services team and mastering session with James Hewgill Music. He'll also get 500 of his cds pressed, an opportunity to take up a publishing deal with Perfect Pitch, an online music course and a RODE microphones package. Phew!

But that's all - he'll also perform at the AGWA Nights Finale as the opener to Bob Evans and take the stage at the WA Music Awards, WA Export Showcase and next year's WAM festivals.
