More Horrorshow More Horrorshow

Universal Music Publishing have tied up the global publishing interests of a number of top Sydney hip hop artists as part of a partnership with the One Day crew.

The Sydney based collective's members – Horrorshow, Jackie Onassis, Joyride and Spit Syndicate – will now be represented by Universal exclusively, who have significantly boosted their local hip hop quota with the deal.

Universal Music Publishing Director of A&R Heath Johns said that artists “are all incredibly special artists in their own right and I feel genuinely privileged that the entire One Day crew have chosen UMPG to represent their collective music publishing interests. “With this deal we pick up a team of world-class beat-makers, hook-writers and storytellers and we couldn't be more pleased.”

Horrorshow's Adit Gauchan said, “Between Horrorshow, and the rest of our crew Spit Syndicate, Joyride, and Jackie Onassis; there's still a lot that we all want to explore with our music. A partnership between Universal Music Publishing and One Day is an affirmation of a strong shared vision and we're looking forward to what the future holds.”

The deal will open up co-writing opportunities for the crew both locally and internationally and will likely increase their synching prominence as well.

Horrorshow are managed by Tim Levinson (Urthboy) and booked by Artist Voice. Jackie Onassis and Spit Syndicate are managed by Myles Cooper at Phat Planet, with Onassis booked by New World Artists and Spit Syndicate Select Music's Stephen Wade.

Other bands on Universal's publishing roster include 360, Bernard Fanning, The Living End, Dead Letter Circus and Chance Waters.

The One Day crew was set-up in 2006 to grow the opportunities and careers of its members, regardless of their labels. Set up by high school friends, they run monthly Sunday events at Enmore's The Vic venue.
