Police confirm arrest and charge

A band member was ejected and arrested from a BIGSOUND after party in the early hours of Thursday morning last week.

An eye witness alleges the individual was forcibly removed from the Alhambra Lounge – which was hosting an after party for the Brisbane music industry showcase and conference – by security and police. A separate witness alleged to theMusic.com.au that there was an altercation between the individual and security.

A police report confirms that a 28-year-old New Farm man has been charged with fail to leave licensed premises and removal of persons from premises after an incident at around 2.45am Thursday 12 September at a premises at McLachlan Street in Fortitude Valley.

It adds that he is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court Wednesday 25 September.

The party – organised by I Oh You and Jesse Barbera – had been host to the reunion show for Philadelphia Grand Jury earlier in the night and also featured Jeremy Neale and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The individual is not believed to be a member of the performing artists.
