We caught up with Bluesfest director Peter Noble at BIGSOUND yesterday to chat about running a festival of his scale and the forthcoming event.
He let slip a little bit of information about one artist he has managed to secure on the 2014 bill, confirming that New Orleans legend Dr John would be returning to the event for the first time since his excellent 2012 record Locked Down.
“I couldn't get Dr John out in the last year or so, on a big record that he had all of a sudden. I'll have him out next year. Oops, I haven't announced that one yet…”
He also admitted that he hasn't managed to secure Ry Cooder for the festival at any stage in its history, but it's not for lack of trying.

Further to that, the festival posted on their message board last night that they had also secured an act for 2015, BIGSOUND speaker and performer Billy Bragg.
