The Paper Kites In Chart Mix With NIN & Dylan

Melbourne's indie-folksters The Paper Kites are looking at a strong debut on this week's ARIA Album Chart, with midweek figures indicating that they're mixing it with heavyweights Nine Inch Nails and Bob Dylan.

At is stands Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails look like a strong top ten debut with their album Hesitation Marks while the new Bob Dylan compilation The Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 - Another Self Portrait (1969 - 1971) and The Paper Kites' States – their debut record – are holding solid top 20 spots. A strong end to the week for either one of them would quite likely see them push into the top ten.

There's going to be a few familiar names in the top ten this week and it won't be surprising if John Mayer holds onto top spot again with Paradise Valley. Another challenger for top spot is Fleetwood Mac, whose 25 Years – The Chain was the only album in the top ten to have a sales increase last week (outside of debuts). It was only a few thousand scans off Mayer last week and as it continues to sell solidly the album, which was originally released in 1992, could spring an upset.

Another strong debut this week will come from The Jungle Giants, with their album Learn To Exist.

Slim Dusty's The Very Best Of Slim Dusty and Rod Stewart's Time are experiencing notable sales bumps in the Albums Chart also.

In the ARIA's Singles Chart Eminem's Berzerk is thriving in its first full sales week and will pose a very real threat to Katy Perry's Roar and Jason Derulo and 2 Chainz's Talk Dirty, which are currently one and two respectively. The other big mover according to the midweek figures is local boy Vance Joy with his EP Riptide, which will jump from 16 this week. It's peaked as high as seven.

Other bullet performers include OneRepublic's Something I Need, Robin Thicke's Give It 2 U, Drake featuring Majid Jordan's Hold On, We're Going Home and Haims' The Wire.

Avicii's You Make Me, Ricki Lee's Come & Get In Trouble With Me and Will Sparks featuring Joel Fletcher's Bring It Back are all in line for top 50 debuts.
