Flume & Jagwar Ma Top Indie Music Award Nominations

The Drones, Big Scary and Dick Diver also up for major awards

Two Sydney acts are front and centre of Carlton Dry Independent Music Award nominations this year, with Sydney producer Flume and indie-dance outfit Jagwar Ma – who are both signed to the Future Classic label – racking up five each.

The premier Australian award for independent artists and their industry, both acts are nominated in the five same categories, which include the major Best Independent Artist and Best Independent Album awards.

In fact, the Best Artist and Best Album categories feature the same five artists with Big Scary (who've got three nominations in total) as well as Dick Diver and The Drones.

The Breakthrough category will be fought between Courtney Barnett (who has two nominations overall), Kirin J Callinan, Seth Sentry, The Rubens and Vance Joy (who also has two).
