Promoter hopes to offer "premium" experience

More PARKER More PARKER

The transformation of Perth's Black Betty's will be complete early August when the live music venue is reborn as the nightclub Parker.

The venue has been completely refurbished by new promoters Boomtick, who also run Ambar and Villa and are the local promoters for Fuzzy's Listen Out festival, and they will launch the new club Saturday 10 August.

Boomtick's Liam Mazzucchelli told theMusic.com.au that the venue will only operate on Friday and Saturday nights initially, with Friday aimed at capturing touring artists and Saturday focused on establishing residencies.

He said that Parker will be “Focusing on DJs. There are still options for live shows, but that's not the direction at this point.”

With a license for 550 patrons, the venue is hoping to make a point of difference by being a 'premium service' nightclub. There will be five bars across the venue, including a table service area, a lounge area and a champagne bar.
